Standard Pin vs Grade B Pins
Standard or Grade B?
Definition of Standard grade:
Standard grade product is any characteristics of a product wherein any aesthetic, physical, and/or mechanical imperfection is unobservable or hardly observable when observed from a viewing distance of 30cm between the observer's eye and the product. Due to the nature of manufacturing involving varying degrees of handwork performed by a human, there is a near zero probability that the entire batch would be an exact perfect copy paste of each other. As such, any "imperfection" that is too minor to be clearly visible from a minimum distance of 30cm or further will be considered as Standard Grade.
Definition of Grade B:
Grade B product is any characteristic of a product with significantly noticeable aesthetic, physical and/or mechanical imperfection that significantly hinders its usability for the purpose for which it was designed and manufactured. Significantly noticeable aesthetic and/or physical imperfection refers to any deformity that is noticeable at a viewing distance of 30cm between the observer's eye and the product. While we do our best to do 2 rounds of Quality Checks, it is impossible to have a completely "perfect" quality, especially when the perception of "perfect" may differ between person to person. Due to the nature of manufacturing, there is a near zero probability that the entire batch would be an exact perfect copy paste of each other. As such, any "imperfection" that is too minor to be observable from a minimum distance of 30cm or further will not be considered as Grade B.
FAQ on Pin Grading
What happens in the event that you purchased a Standard Grade but a Grade B pin was received instead?
Photographic proof would have to be provided to prove that the item received does qualify as Grade B based on the definition given by the shop. The proof will be cross referenced with an archive photo of your pins taken at the time the shop packed your order.
If the shop believes that a mistake has been made, the shop will refund an amount equivalent to the difference between the price of Standard grade at the time of your purchase of the product, and the price of Grade B at the time of your purchase of the product.
However, if the shop finds that the poor quality of the item in the photograph provided by the buyer does not match the quality of the product that the seller has originally sent out, wherein the product has been believed to be tampered with, altered, and/or damaged by the buyer and/or other external party, no refunds or any other form of compensation will be provided to the buyer. The seller is not responsible or liable for any actions, mistakes, or mishandling done by any third-party and/or the buyer.
I don't think it's fair. That's not how other shops run their business. I deserve more refund.
